Interview with David Ward, co-chair of our LGBTQ+ Affinity Group

As part of #PrideAtGatenbySanderson series, taking place during Pride month and beyond, we are amplifying the voices and lived experiences of colleagues and partners who are part of the LGBTQ+ community and reflecting on what true allyship means for all of us at GatenbySanderson.

Jade Beckles sat down with David Ward, Associate Consultant within our Leadership & Talent Practice, to explore what Pride has meant to them, some of the challenges they have encountered, including coming out as non-binary, and what support systems have been useful.

David has spearheaded diversity and inclusion initiatives during the course of their career.  Since gaining a place on the Stonewall Young Leaders programme at the beginning of their career, they have continued to put this passion into action and we are delighted that David is one of three co-chairs of our newly formed LGBTQ+ affinity group.

It’s so important to amplify voices and experiences of the LGBTQ+ community and their experiences in the workplace and how organisations, leaders and colleagues can make a difference as allies and community members. Thank you David for sharing your story with us so openly and with such courage.
