Rae Avatar Barnett: confidence, curiosity and commerciality as a leader

Rae Avatar Barnett is a commercial HR executive with a proven track record of guiding organizations through complex transformative change, growing organisations, developing comprehensive people strategies, and leading ED&I efforts at the executive level, dedicated to enhancing business performance and maximizing company value. Rae works with the CEO and Leadership teams to leverage her strategic insight, operational expertise and commercial acumen, to drive commercial results and foster a culture of inclusivity and valuing difference. Rae is also a trustee at the Epilepsy Society.

Liz Dean-Stevens, Principal Consultant in our Not for Profit practice spoke with Rae as part of our International Women’s Day celebrations to dive into her leadership journey.

In this really inspiring conversation, Rae shares fantastic advice on being confident, being driven by curiosity and getting to know the commerciality of an organisation to inform your leadership. She also shares some of the advice she has been given that has helped her grow as a leader and what has gotten her through the struggles that naturally come with any career.
