Help create places to be proud of. We're seeking an experienced and inspirational leader to become our next Chair of the Board and help shape the future of housing, communities and customer services across Greater Lincolnshire.

This is a pivotal moment for our organisation. With a new Chief Executive in place, a clear ambition to further strengthen customer services and achieve the highest consumer regulatory grading of C1, and a new corporate strategy in development, we are seeking a Chair who can help guide us through the next phase of our journey. Our ambition is to become an even stronger, more customer-focused and community-based organisation – one that listens carefully to customers and colleagues, uses their insight to understand what is working and what needs to improve, and responds to what matters most.

What type of person are we looking for?

  • Above all, we're seeking someone who shares our values and is passionate about making a meaningful and lasting difference to the lives of customers and the Lincolnshire communities we serve.
  • You will be an accomplished strategic leader with significant Board-level experience and the ability to lead an effective Board, bringing the credibility and insight needed to guide LHP through the next stage of its development. You may already be an experienced Chair or be ready to step into a Chair role having demonstrated strong leadership through Board, committee or comparable roles.
  • As Chair, you will provide visible, inclusive and effective leadership to the Board, creating an environment where different perspectives are welcomed, constructive challenge is encouraged and collective accountability is strong. You will ensure the Board remains connected to the experiences of customers and colleagues and uses their insight to inform strategic discussion and decision-making.
  • You will build a trusted and constructive partnership with the Chief Executive, providing support, challenge and independent perspective while respecting the distinct responsibilities of Board and Executive.
  • You will combine sound judgement and personal integrity with a strong understanding of governance, risk and organisational performance. Confident leading strategic discussions, you will ensure the Board listens to customer and colleague insight, tests this alongside performance, assurance and other evidence, and uses that rounded picture to make balanced decisions and improve outcomes for customers.
  • We’re looking for someone who understands the importance of leading organisations with a strong social purpose, is motivated by improving outcomes for disadvantaged communities and reducing inequality, and believes that listening and responding to customers should be central to how organisations learn and improve.
  • While experience within social housing would be beneficial, we welcome applications from individuals with leadership and governance experience gained in other sectors, particularly those operating within complex, regulated or customer-focused environments. What matters most is your ability to bring fresh perspectives, strategic thinking and a genuine commitment to our vision and values.

Applications close at 12 noon on 16th October

If you are an experienced Board leader with the passion and vision to help shape the future of housing and communities across Greater Lincolnshire, we would love to hear from you.
