Fatima Khan-Shah is West Yorkshire’s first Inclusivity Champion as part of the Mayor’s pledge to achieve greater equality across the region. This sees Fatima working with the collective leadership of the West Yorkshire Combined Authority and leading several agendas around diversity, long-term conditions, personalisation and carer support. Fatima is also a HSJ top 50 BAME influencer, member of the Kingsfund General Council and NHS Assembly as well as a Non Executive Director for Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust.
In this conversation for International Women’s Day with our Health Practice Lead, Robin Staveley, Fatima shares how she has embraced the art of the possible, how women have impacted her career and the big and small ways they’ve included her as well as what both local authorities and the NHS need to do to ensure representation at the most senior forum.
