Interim Head of Safeguarding – NHS Provider, Yorkshire – Start ASAP – 9-12 Month Duration - Hybrid Working – 8B/8C Day Rate

GatenbySanderson is currently assisting an NHS Provider in Yorkshire in their search for an Interim Head of Safeguarding.

This position is looking to start as soon as possible, ideally no later than in 4-6 weeks’ time. The contract is expected to run for a duration of 9-12 months and can be performed on a full-time or part-time basis. Regarding hybrid working, there are remote working arrangements available and our client expects a requirement to be on-site c.3 days per week. In terms of remuneration, there is a day rate budget available at a band 8B/8C level.

Terms of Engagement

  • Start date - this position is looking to start ASAP, no later than within a month to 6 weeks
  • Duration - the contract is expected to run for 9-12 months
  • Working week - this role can be done on a full-time or part-time basis
  • Hybrid working - there are flexible arrangements in place, with on-site presence required c. 3 days per week
  • Remuneration - this position is at a band 8B/8C level on a day rate

Role Responsibilities

This position would be providing urgently needed support to the Trust in the following areas:

  • Exploring recommendations made from an external review and implementing these recommendations
  • Performing Gap analysis on statutory and mandatory requirements relating to safeguarding
  • Reviewing current structures at the Trust relating to safeguarding, identifying resourcing requirements and actioning changes needed
  • Preparing the Trust for incoming Liberty Protection safeguarding standards

The Person

The Trust is looking for an individual with solid and demonstrable experience working within safeguarding, for either children or adults. It is also essential for suitable candidates to hold an active professional registration (e.g. social worker, nurse, midwife etc.)
