Interim E-Rostering Project Manager (Nursing and AHPs)

Day Rate: £450-£500 per day (Outside IR35)

 Duration: Interim Contract

 Location: Hybrid with regular onsite presence required (travel and accommodation provided)

We are supporting an NHS Trust undergoing a significant workforce transformation seeking an experienced Interim E-Rostering Project Manager to lead critical improvements within Nursing and AHP rostering and planning in order to reduce and helping the wards fulfil their nursing, AHP rosters for staff on the wards i.e planning 6 weeks ahead.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in delivering workforce optimisation initiatives within a complex healthcare environment, helping modernise rostering processes, enhance reporting capabilities, and improve operational efficiency.

The Role

Working closely with workforce, operational and clinical stakeholders, you will lead the delivery of an e-rostering programme focused on medical staffing and job planning. You will be responsible for driving improvements across a challenging and evolving landscape that incorporates multiple systems, manual processes, and varying levels of data maturity.

You will provide dedicated project leadership, enabling senior programme colleagues to focus on strategic delivery while ensuring operational workstreams remain on track.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of Nursing and AHP staffing e-rostering initiatives across the organisation in order to reduce the reliance on bank staff.
  • Work with clinical and operational teams to improve rota management and workforce planning processes.
  • Support the development and implementation of rostering best practice.
  • Analyse and improve existing workforce systems, reporting, and data quality processes.
  • Produce meaningful workforce and rota reporting to support operational decision-making.
  • Engage effectively with workforce, HR, medical staffing, and programme teams.

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience delivering e-rostering or workforce transformation projects within a healthcare setting.
  • Experience working with rostering platforms
  • Ability to navigate complex environments where processes may span digital systems, spreadsheets, and manual records.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across clinical and non-clinical teams.
  • Demonstrable project management experience with successful delivery of workforce-focused programmes.

The successful candidate will be expected to spend time onsite during the initial onboarding period (typically 2-3 days per week), reducing to approximately fortnightly attendance thereafter, depending on programme requirements. Flexibility is available.

Timeline

We are looking to identify suitable candidates immediately, with interviews taking place towards the end of August and an anticipated start date in September
