Edinburgh Business School is part of the School of Social Sciences and is one of five academic schools at Heriot-Watt University. The School has a strong presence in the University’s international campuses in Edinburgh, Dubai and Malaysia and comprises of seven academic disciplines: Accounting, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Human Resource Management and Law, Operations Management and Logistics, and Strategy and Enterprises.

We are now seeking to appoint a Professor/Associate Professor in Economics to contribute to the university’s mission to maintain the upward trajectory of the economics group towards world-class status.

You will be an experienced academic, at either Professor or Associate Professor level, ideally (but not necessarily) working in macroeconomics, financial economics, or environmental and energy economics and will bring a strong or growing research and funding track record.

You will lead and co-ordinate research and scholarship activities in Economics across the University, and provide leadership in the planning, organisation and development of learning and teaching activities.

The ideal candidate will have a desire to mentor and develop more junior members of the team, excellent communication skills and a collegiate approach.

Edinburgh Business School has significant growth plans in place, with ambitions to become one of the top 50 Business Schools internationally by 2030 and is investing significantly in academic talent to achieve this.

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the top ranked economics teaching departments in the UK, within a highly collaborative and supportive School, on an upward trajectory.
