Our vision at Yorkshire Housing is that everyone should have the opportunity to live in a quality home they can afford, and we currently own and manage 18,000 affordable and social rent homes, with a plan to develop 8,000 more over the next 10 years. We’re already making a huge difference to the lives of our customers and want to do even more by revolutionising the way we work - to go from being a good business to a great one. Proud to be more than just a landlord, we are transforming our business by investing in people, processes and technology to deliver a consistently great experience for our customers and be an organisation people want to work with and for.

Our success is dependent on our people and we are now looking to appoint four new Board Members, one of whom will also be the Chair of our YH Residential Board. You may already be a current non-executive with significant strategic leadership experience, although we’re also very keen to hear from aspirant Board Members who want to join an ambitious and customer focused organisation such as ours. Either way, we look for people who are curious, think differently, have impact and above all people who can make things happen.

As Chair of our YH Residential Board, you’ll bring to us significant commercial insight into development, property sales or investment. This will ideally be combined with significant strategic leadership experience and the financial literacy required to oversee our commercial, non-social housing activities. A wholly owned subsidiary, YH Residential owns our market rent portfolio, develops and sells our market sale homes, and also sells our shared ownership properties. As we continue to deliver our significant growth ambitions, the YH Residential Board has an important role in ensuring that we maximise profits which, as a social business, is reinvested to deliver even more for our customers.

For the other three new Board Members, we are looking for expertise in digital transformation in a fast-paced customer environment, as well as innovative and strategic social housing experience. We are also looking for a finance professional who will bring broad financial expertise, in particular funding, treasury or refinancing experience to ensure we deliver our growth targets. Yorkshire Housing is proactively working to implement its Equality and Diversity Policy. We positively welcome and support diversity in our workforce and welcome applications from all sections of the community.
