Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is entering an important new phase. With strong clinical foundations and a renewed sense of ambition, we have an opportunity to strengthen local acute services while growing our contribution as a teaching, research and specialist healthcare organisation serving communities across Hull, the East Riding and the wider Humber region.

As Chief Medical Officer, you will join the unitary Board as a voting member and play a defining role within a newly forming Executive team. Working alongside the Chief Executive and clinical leaders, you will help shape the Trust’s future: setting strategic direction, developing ambitious clinical and medical workforce strategies, and ensuring the professional voice of our medical and dental workforce is heard from ward to Board.

This is an opportunity to make a visible and lasting difference. You will champion clinical excellence, quality improvement and patient safety, strengthen medical engagement, and create the conditions for clinicians to lead, innovate and deliver sustainable change. Your influence will also extend across our ambitions for research, education and digital transformation, as well as deeper partnerships across the wider health and care system.

We are seeking an exceptional medical leader with senior level NHS experience and a strong track record in a complex acute environment. You will combine strategic insight, sound judgement and professional credibility with the ability to navigate complexity, build trusted relationships and unite colleagues behind a clear and compelling vision.

Above all, you will be a compassionate, open and inclusive leader, energised by possibility and ambitious for our patients, people and communities. For the right person, this is an unique opportunity to help build a stronger, more confident organisation and create a meaningful legacy for healthcare across Hull, the East Riding and the wider Humber region.
