This is an exciting time to join Muir and make a significant impact in a unique and wide-ranging executive leadership role.

As we develop our 2027–2030 Corporate Strategy, we’re looking for an exceptional leader who can help shape our future, maximise opportunities and ensure we continue to deliver outstanding outcomes for our customers, colleagues and communities.

We’re an ambitious, financially strong and well-governed housing association with customers at the heart of everything we do. With offices in Chester, Burnley and Huntingdon, we manage almost 6,000 homes across  30 local authority areas in England. With an annual turnover of £42.8m and a strong platform for growth, we’re well placed to build on our proud history and deliver even greater impact in the years ahead.

As our new Executive Director, you’ll provide strategic leadership across Finance & Risk, Transformation & Technology, and Development & Asset Management, leading four experienced Directors and their teams. You’ll help ensure organisational resilience, support sustainable growth, drive continuous improvement and turn ambition into delivery. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive and working closely with the Board and Executive Team, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our future direction and success.

You’ll be a fully qualified finance professional (CCAB or CIMA) with a successful track record of strategic leadership within the social housing sector. With a high level of business and commercial awareness, you’ll bring expertise in enabling organisational growth through long-term financial planning and pro-active business partnering.

Importantly, you’ll be a credible and inspiring leader, who builds trusted relationships, influences with confidence and brings people with you. You’ll enjoy leading high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams, creating a positive culture and helping colleagues achieve their best.

Whether this is your first Executive Director role or your next leadership challenge, you’ll bring the ambition, motivation and commitment to make a tangible difference. In return, you’ll have the opportunity to influence at the highest level, help shape our future and play a key role in delivering great outcomes for our customers, colleagues and communities.

For a confidential discussion, please contact our advisers at GatenbySanderson: Nick Roberts on 07393 013697 or Duncan Collins on 07586 705475.

Closing date: 9.00am, Monday 3 August 2026.
