The Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) is the professional body for GPs in the UK and the largest medical royal college with over 55,000 members. At a time of significant change across health and care, the College continues to play a vital role in shaping the future of general practice, advocating for the profession and ensuring the highest standards of patient care. As the organisation looks ahead, it is seeking an Executive Director of Corporate Services to help strengthen the foundations that enable its work and support the delivery of its strategic ambitions.

This is a broad and influential executive leadership role, sitting on the Executive Management Team and working closely with the Chief Executive, Trustees and senior stakeholders across the organisation. Leading the corporate services portfolio, you will have responsibility for people, finance, governance and organisational planning. Alongside ensuring effective corporate operations, you will play a key role in driving organisational improvement, supporting strategic decision-making and helping to create an environment where people and teams can perform at their best.

We are looking for a credible and experienced executive leader with a demonstrable track record of leading organisational change in complex stakeholder environments. You will have operated at a senior level with responsibility for corporate services functions and will bring experience of shaping organisational culture, strengthening capability and leading teams through periods of significant transformation. Comfortable working across functions and at the interface between strategic planning and operational delivery, you will be a collaborative and influential leader who builds trust quickly, develops high-performing teams and creates the conditions for people to succeed. The successful candidate will combine strong financial insight and organisational judgement with a genuine commitment to people, ensuring that the College continues to evolve while remaining firmly anchored to its values, purpose and member focus.
