Ref: GSe81680

The James Paget University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (JPUH) is a vibrant university hospital providing the best possible care to a population of 250,000 residents across Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft and Waveney, as well as to the many visitors who come to this part of East Anglia. At the heart of our local community, our vision is “to be outstanding in everything that we do” supported by the values and behaviours that we expect from every single member of our team.

Rated as “Good” by our regulator, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in 2019 for the fourth consecutive time, we provide a full range of general acute services plus a number of specialised services. We work with local primary care colleagues, community services and other acute trusts, to ensure that patients receive the best care in the right place. We are a member of Norfolk and Waveney Health and Care Partnership (Integrated Care Partnership) and work alongside the local and regional health and social care system across the area and at local place level to ensure that people can live as healthy a life as possible.

Focused on improving services for our local communities we are working together with NHS partners (the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and The Queen Elizabeth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust King’s Lynn) to enhance the range of acute services and facilities. We moved to a Committees in Common structure from September 2020 and are in further discussion about future closer collaboration.

We are seeking a values driven Chief Executive to join our organisation and lead on our ambitions to:

  • Deliver outstanding care for our patients
  • Work with and support our people to deliver the best for our patients
  • Make the best use of our physical and financial resources
  • Be a leader of collaboration and partnership, working locally and across the system

The Covid 19 Pandemic has bought into sharp focus the need for our Trust to be resilient and adaptable and this continues to be a challenging time for our workforce, patients, and population. We know that the NHS must continue to develop and improve its services despite these additional challenges. Our next Chief Executive will be responsible for leading our work in relation to the recovery and further improvement of Trust performance and quality standards, the development of new integrated services in the locality and providing strong leadership within our acute collaborative and the Integrated Care Partnership to ensure the voice and culture of JPUH and the community it serves are respected and maintained.

We are looking for a compassionate, inclusive and empowering leader – a natural systems leader who can think beyond current organisational boundaries and drive forward further integration with a focus on making things better for patients and staff. If you have significant Board level leadership experience, ideally gained within a healthcare setting, are aligned with our values and behaviours and will lead our organisation with authenticity and compassion every day then we would be delighted to hear from you.

We value and promote diversity and are committed to equality of opportunity for all.
