Gloucestershire Health & Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced and values‑driven Non‑Executive Director with a strong clinical background in nursing or as an Allied Health Professional. This is an important appointment at a time when the Trust is delivering its new five‑year strategy and strengthening its role in improving the health and wellbeing of communities across Gloucestershire.

The Trust serves a diverse county across community physical health, mental health and learning disability services. With a £340m budget, 6,000 colleagues and a “Good” CQC rating, GHC is recognised for its stability, collaboration and strong culture that is grounded in shared values. You will join a committed and inclusive Board that welcomes fresh insight and constructive challenge.

As a Non‑Executive Director, you will help shape strategic direction, ensure robust governance, and hold the Executive team to account for delivering high‑quality, safe and equitable services. You will play an active role in Board committees, support a healthy organisational culture, engage directly with staff and service users, and contribute to effective partnership working across the emerging Integrated Care System. Personal credibility, sound judgement, analytical thinking and a commitment to inclusion are essential.

Candidates should bring board‑level or equivalent leadership experience from a large or complex organisation, a strong understanding of good governance, and a genuine connection to Gloucestershire or its neighbouring counties. We are looking in particular for people with a strong clinical background in nursing or as an Allied Health Professional.

Applications are welcomed from all backgrounds, and the Trust particularly encourages interest from people from ethnic minority communities, women, people with disabilities or long‑term conditions, and LGBTQ+ applicants, who are underrepresented at this level.
