A system shaping, people first, transformation leader.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare is seeking an exceptional Chief Executive, a leader who brings the innovation, passion, courage and track record to drive whole organisation transformation and deliver significantly better outcomes for our patients, communities and workforce. We are looking for someone who has already done this somewhere else, not in theory, but demonstrably, with evidence of energising an organisation to achieve breakthrough improvements in quality, access, culture, safety, financial sustainability and population health.

  • Has led radical whole organisation change and can clearly evidence marked improvement in performance, productivity, culture, quality and outcomes.
  • Puts people first - a visible, humble and values-driven leader who listens deeply to frontline staff, empowers and energises them to be central to change and can show that culture building has been your differentiator.
  • Is a system influencer - already operating credibly at Integrated Care Systems level or above, with evidence of being a thoughtful and collaborative forward looking partner, to build alignment across complex landscapes and catalyse new ways of working across health, care, local authorities, the voluntary sector and communities.
  • Is accountable - innovative and brave enough to lead delivery of the three left shifts in the NHS Long Term Plan, with a track record of strengthening prevention and community capacity, reducing avoidable admissions, and improving flow and discharge.
  • Is an innovator in technology - able to demonstrate how you have successfully applied digital, data and technology to transform care, empower staff, improve productivity and enhance patient experience.
  • Will live as well as work in our communities - committed to Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, visible across our patch and invested in our people and places.

About the role

This is a rare opportunity to lead a large and ambitious provider organisation serving a diverse geography of rural, coastal, island and urban communities. You will be a pivotal leader within a major healthcare system, shaping the organisation’s future with clarity, pace and unwavering focus on our patients and workforce.

You will work closely with an engaged Board, talented teams and strong system partners to deliver high quality care while building the sustainable, integrated, digitally enabled health and care system our communities deserve.
