In Stoke-on-Trent we are continuing our journey to deliver services that are child and family centred. Through the implementation of our Families First Partnership programme, we are fundamentally transforming how we work with communities through innovative programmes across the city that promote an integrated multi-agency approach to prevention and early intervention, working with partners and families to ensure children live in homes and environments where they feel safe and loved. We are transforming our city and, in our centenary year, renewing our commitment to improve the aspirations and opportunities for the residents of Stoke-on-Trent.

Reporting to our new Corporate Director of Children and Family Services, you will lead services across prevention, early help and assessment, family hubs, children in need and child protection, as well as coordinating our multi-agency safeguarding partnership model. We are looking for someone who will be central to our journey of transformation, embracing the families first model and new policy requirements set out in the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill to ensure that children and young people see and feel the difference we are making. You will champion best practice through professional leadership and the adoption of a robust operating model that places prevention and early intervention at the centre, focusing on outcomes and impact.

As an experienced leader, you will bring a confident, visible and values-led approach, maintaining strong relationships with diverse stakeholders. You will be an ambassador for the council, promoting our city, supporting the formation of strategic alliances and developing effective working relationships on a local, regional and national basis.
