Essex County Council, as one of the largest local authorities and home to a community of over 1.4 million residents, has some of the most ambitious growth aspirations and delivery plans in the country. These include over 80,000
new jobs and 150,000 new homes. With nine new garden communities planned, our growth ambitions have national significance, including over £300m in funding from government.

As one of two new Growth Directors, you will be so much more than a key influencer. You will lead our work with external partners: linking together district, central government and private sector partnerships and securing the
right level of investment, ensuring that growth in Essex is inclusive, and we are at the forefront on innovation and sustainability. You will also lead with District colleagues on our capital investment programme with a renewed
focus on our town centres.

These are demanding and complex roles which require individuals with a passion for sustainable inclusive growth, strategic insight, commercial acumen, innovation and a genuine desire to work within a complex partnership network. It presents a fantastic opportunity for real delivery at significant scale.
