Interim Operations Improvement Director

Terms & Details

  • Start Date: ASAP (January preferred, early February possible)
  • Duration: 9-12 months Fixed Term Contract (potential to go permanent)
  • Salary: £120,000 + NHS Pension etc
  • Location: On-site presence required across a geographical patch for a minimum 3 days per week
  • Interview Dates: 14th/15th January (via MS Teams)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Operational Improvement Director to join our client’s leadership team on an interim contract. This newly created role is designed to support the Board to drive service improvement across the organisation.  The successful candidate will focus on improving ways of working, implementing cost improvement plans, and ensuring operational efficiency. While a strategic CIP plan has already been developed, you will be responsible for maintaining momentum and delivering measurable results. A key priority will be to develop a clear structure across multiple localities and standardise processes, moving from several independent sites to a single integrated organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead operational improvement initiatives across the organisation
  • Engage locality leads and implement new processes to streamline operations
  • Drive efficiencies and standardisation across sites
  • Oversee delivery of cost improvement plans
  • Coach and upskill staff to design and embed future-state operating models
  • Manage three direct reports and work collaboratively with the Board

About You

  • Experienced operational leader with a strong track record in service improvement within the health sector
  • Ability to work strategically as well as hands-on, delivering change at pace
  • Skilled in organisational design, process optimisation, and delivering on cost improvement programmes
  • Confident communicator who can bring people together and influence at all levels
