Are you an ambitious, visionary academic leader ready to shape the future of learning, teaching and student success at one of the UK’s leading modern universities?

The University of Staffordshire — recently rebranded with a bold new identity and a renewed commitment to diversity, opportunity and next‑generation education — is seeking a Head of Educational Enhancement & Impact to drive a transformative institution‑wide approach to curriculum excellence, digital innovation and inclusive student outcomes.

Supporting more than 20,000 students across campuses in Stoke‑on‑Trent, Stafford, London and international partner locations, Staffordshire is a dynamic, future‑focused university known for immersive learning, digital leadership, industry‑connected programmes and award‑winning teaching. We are proud to be recognised nationally for our strengths in games education, health and social care, creative industries, engineering, and professional practice.

This is a rare opportunity to lead a high‑impact portfolio at a defining moment in the University’s strategic journey — shaping how we design, deliver and evaluate learning that truly transforms lives.

The Role

As our Head of Educational Enhancement & Impact, you will be the strategic lead for improving the quality, innovation and impact of learning and teaching across the institution.

You will:

  • Develop and deliver institution‑wide educational enhancement approaches that empower staff and elevate student experience
  • Lead the rollout and embedding of the Staffordshire Curriculum Framework
  • Create and implement a robust evaluation framework, including student feedback and evidence‑based impact measures
  • Oversee institutional planning and reporting for the Teaching Excellence Framework and the Access & Participation Plan
  • Provide senior strategic advice on sector trends, regulatory expectations and best practice in learning and teaching
  • Lead and inspire teams working across educational development, digital education, inclusive education and evaluation
  • Represent the University nationally — including with Advance HE and key sector networks
  • Contribute as a senior member of the Curriculum & Academic Affairs Directorate, collaborating closely with Registry and Quality Assurance leaders

This role will shape how our students experience education — immersive, digitally enabled, inclusive and world‑ready.

About You

You are a confident, future‑focused academic leader with the credibility to influence at senior levels and the passion to drive meaningful enhancement across a complex university environment.

You’ll bring:

  • A strong track record of leading educational enhancement or academic development at institutional level
  • Deep knowledge of the UK HE landscape — including TEF, the OfS, Access & Participation Plans and regulatory quality frameworks
  • Expertise in curriculum design, learning and teaching, and evaluation methodologies
  • Experience managing specialist teams and budgets
  • Strategic insight combined with a collaborative, empowering leadership style
  • Curiosity, ambition and a commitment to inclusive education
  • The ability to work across boundaries, build trust, and inspire colleagues to try new ideas and approaches
  • Enthusiasm for digital pedagogy and the role of technology in shaping next‑generation learning
