Gloucestershire Health & Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced and values‑driven Chief Operating Officer to join its board. This is an important appointment at a time when the Trust is delivering its new five‑year strategy and strengthening its role in improving the health and wellbeing of communities across Gloucestershire.

The Trust serves a diverse county across community physical health, mental health and learning disability services. With a £340m budget, 6,000 colleagues and a “Good” CQC rating, GHC is recognised for its stability, collaboration and strong culture that is grounded in shared values. You will join a committed and inclusive Board that welcomes fresh insight and constructive challenge.

With the Trust having just launched its 2026 -2031 “Our Fire-Year Focus” to guide the whole team in its work, you will be joining at the beginning of this next phase of change. They want to ensure the Trust plays its full part in the transformation of healthcare to meet changing population needs, while ensuring that its services get the basics right, remain high quality and people-centred, tackling health inequalities whilst meeting performance targets within available resources.

They are looking for someone with a proven track record at or near Board level, providing operations and service delivery in complex health and care organisations. Energetic and curious, you will have previously driven complex programmes of transformation, and understand how to work across organisational boundaries – working in partnership will come naturally to you.

This is a career-defining role for a compassionate, values-driven leader who wants to make a measurable difference. Applications are welcomed from all backgrounds, and the Trust particularly encourages interest from people from ethnic minority communities, women, people with disabilities or long‑term conditions, and LGBTQ+ applicants, who are underrepresented at this level.
