Help shape the future of health and care for 1.8 million people across Humber and North Yorkshire.

NHS Humber and North Yorkshire ICB oversees £4.2 billion of NHS services across a large and diverse region – from the cities of Hull and York to the rural and coastal communities of East Yorkshire, North Yorkshire, and Northern Lincolnshire. We work at the heart of the Humber and North Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership with partners across health, local government, and the voluntary sector to improve health and care for local people.

The role of ICBs is evolving; we are being asked to take an even stronger role in strategic commissioning, making clear, bold decisions about the services we plan and fund, especially during a period of rising demand and finite resources.  We are sharpening our focus on long-term population health, improving quality and access, and building more joined-up, community-based models of care.

This is an exciting and important moment to join our Board. We are now seeking to appoint six Non-Executive Directors, individuals who can bring fresh perspectives, strong values, and a commitment to making a real difference. These appointments will strengthen our Board in the following areas:

  • Audit and Governance

  • Quality

  • Finance and Performance

  • Remuneration

  • Strategic Commissioning

  • Insight & Experience

You don’t need NHS experience to apply. What matters most is your ability to bring sound judgement, independence of thought, and the confidence to challenge constructively. We are interested in people with board-level or senior leadership experience from the public, private, or voluntary and community sectors; but we want the board’s composition to also benefit from those whose lived experience can add different perspectives, and who may not already have non-executive experience. If you live in or have a strong connection to Humber and North Yorkshire, we want to hear from you.

We particularly encourage applications from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities, LGBTQ+ people, younger candidates, and people with lived experience of disability, who are under‑represented on NHS boards. Your perspective will help us shape fairer, more inclusive care for our region.

To learn more about these opportunities, the ICB’s work and our aspirations, please join our webinar at 1:30 – 3pm on Wednesday 25th February where you will hear from our Chair Jason Stamp and Chief Executive Teresa Fenech, and where you can ask them questions.  To register your interest in the webinar please submit your details via: Registration Form.
