Karibu Community Homes was formed in 2024 through the merger of two housing associations and is now the UK’s largest Black and Minority Ethnic‑led housing provider. Our name, Karibu, meaning “Welcome”, reflects our commitment to belonging, representation and community. We provide more than 1,900 homes across London and the South East, delivering services rooted in trust, respect and meaningful connection with the people we serve. As a young and ambitious organisation with a strong cultural identity, this is a pivotal moment in our evolution. We are now seeking an exceptional Chief Executive to lead us into the next stage of our journey.

This is a rare/real opportunity to make a lasting impact. Karibu is more than a housing provider; it is a community anchor with a clear purpose and a proud cultural heritage. As Chief Executive, you will shape our future direction, strengthen our culture and ensure we continue to meet the needs of the communities we serve, working closely with a committed and engaged Board and Executive Team to provide clarity, insight and constructive challenge.

We are seeking a credible and confident ambassador whose leadership is visible, people centred and grounded in strong values. You will build trust through openness and genuine engagement, empowering colleagues to deliver high‑quality, accountable services. As leader of the Executive Team, you will foster an environment where people feel valued and supported, and where cultural integrity and high performance go hand in hand.

You will ensure our organisation remains safe, compliant and financially robust, while maintaining a sharp focus on customer experience, community engagement and fairness. This is a role that requires balance: ambition with discipline, pace with thoughtful decision‑making, and strong governance with the creativity to pursue new ideas and partnerships. You will help shape Karibu’s profile and voice, strengthening our presence in the housing sector and unlocking opportunities for influence, collaboration and growth.

We are seeking a leader with senior level experience, ideally gained in the social housing or adjacent sectors. You will be confident working with a Board, skilled in managing diverse stakeholders, and able to communicate with clarity, empathy and authority. Above all, you will be someone whose values align with ours, someone who cares deeply about equity, inclusion and the power of community, and who can lead with purpose, integrity and conviction.

Our values guide how we work and lead: Service, Trust, Accountability, Respect and Strength. If these values resonate with you and you want to help build an organisation where every home supports pride, belonging and opportunity, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Join us and lead an organisation with community at its heart.
