Cumberland Lodge is an educational charity with a unique heritage and a bold vision for the future. For nearly 80 years, we have been bringing people together to explore pressing social and political challenges and to equip the next generation of leaders with the skills and confidence to create more peaceful, just, and inclusive communities.

Set in the historic splendour of Windsor Great Park, Cumberland Lodge is far more than a beautiful building. It is a haven for open, respectful dialogue in an increasingly polarised world - a place where ideas flourish and ethical leadership is nurtured.

We are now seeking an exceptional Programme Director to lead this vital work at a defining moment in our history. Working closely with our CEO, Executive Team, and Board, you will:

  • Shape and deliver our 2025–2030 programme strategy, including developing 5,000 future leaders and establishing a global “Change in Action Hub” for collaboration and thought leadership.
  • Design, oversee, and deliver transformative programmes that deepen engagement with young people.
  • Secure resources and build partnerships to expand our reach and impact.
  • Serve as an ambassador for Cumberland Lodge, inspiring confidence among stakeholders and donors.

This is a senior leadership role for someone with strategic vision, creativity, energy, and the ability to inspire others. You will combine educational experience and intellectual curiosity with practical know-how, and have the presence and credibility to represent Cumberland Lodge with broad-ranging stakeholders and partners.

With a refreshed Board and energised Senior Leadership Team, we are approaching our 80th anniversary with ambition and confidence. If you share our conviction in the importance of ethical leadership and have the skills and experience to help us achieve our vision, we would be delighted to hear from you.
