About Salix Homes

We’re more than a housing provider. We create safe, affordable homes and improve lives across our communities. As we continue strengthening our services and governance, we’re looking for people who want to use their skills and experience to support our work and make a positive difference. As a not for profit housing association, we own and manage more than 8,000 homes across Salford and hold G1/C1/V2 ratings from our latest regulatory review.

The role

We’re looking for an Independent Committee Member who will join both our Audit & Risk and Assets & Sustainability committees. This role will help us strengthen our governance, assurance and sustainability work as we continue to invest in our homes and services.

Who we’re looking for

You’ll bring experience of development or growth programmes and an understanding of the financial aspects of building new homes. Financial literacy is essential, although a formal qualification isn’t required. You will be someone who embodies our values of being trustworthy, successful, and inclusive. We’re also recruiting two Board Members with experience in housing management and technology.

We would particularly welcome applications from candidates who are currently underrepresented at decision-making levels in our sector, including women, people from ethnically diverse backgrounds within the UK, LGBTQ+ people and disabled people.
