The Consumer Council for Water (CCW) is dedicated to championing the interests of water consumers across England and Wales. Since our establishment in 2005, we have helped thousands of customers resolve complaints against their water company or retailer. Our work is underpinned by robust research, enabling us to influence water companies, governments, and regulators to deliver better outcomes for consumers.

We are a small organisation with a big impact. In recent years, we’ve led campaigns tackling affordability, vulnerability, and environmental challenges, and we continue to push for fair and resilient water services. Change is sweeping across the water industry, and CCW is evolving to meet the needs of tomorrow’s customers.

We are now entering a pivotal phase of transformation. With a renewed commitment to amplifying the consumer voice, CCW is investing significantly in research and insight, including multi-million-pound external research contracts and the creation of consumer panels mandated by government. This is an exciting opportunity for a new Director to lead the conversion of data and insight into actionable intelligence that drives strategic decisions and sector accountability.

We are seeking an exceptional senior leader, entrepreneurial, innovative, and experienced in shaping and delivering research and insight strategies within complex systems. You will spearhead CCW’s research programme, oversee data collection and transformation into insights, champion evidence-based decision-making, and ensure consumer perspectives are at the heart of industry improvements.
