At Wythenshawe Community Housing Group (WCHG) we are proud to play a pivotal role in the Manchester communities which we serve. As Manchester’s largest social housing provider, we take care of 14,000 properties, providing homes for over 29,000 people in Wythenshawe, South Manchester. We are a major local employer, investor, support provider and enabler, building on the strengths of local people, organisations and the wider community.

Our Corporate Plan is focused on utilising our resources to have a positive and lasting impact for our communities, investing in current and new properties, and working with partners to build safer, healthier communities.

There is an opportunity for an exceptional new non-executive to join us in 2025 and become the Chair of our Customer Experience Committee in July 2026. This is a key role for our entire organisation and we want to ensure the individual appointed has sufficient time to learn about us and our communities ahead of stepping up to the Committee Chair role.

With a significant amount of social housing expertise and regulatory insight, you’ll be looking for your first or next non-executive role of this nature. We are looking for a strategic customer service professional who appreciates the key community role which we play – there is so much more to WCHG than just the bricks and mortar of housing. You’ll bring to us a passion for ensuring that the customers’ voices are heard and acted upon, along with the strategic skills required to ensure that our services are continuously improved and at the forefront of innovation.

We aim to ensure that Equality and Diversity is at the heart of all we do at WCHG in both the services we provide, and as an employer. We are committed to treating everyone fairly and strive to achieve equality for the diverse mix of communities that make up Wythenshawe.

If you share our vision and commitment, then we would welcome hearing from you. To apply, please download the candidate pack. If you then require a confidential discussion, please contact our advising consultants at GatenbySanderson: Nick Roberts on 07393 013697 or Alfred Leigh on 07881 824205.

The closing date is 9am on Tuesday 26th August 2025.
