British Safety Council is seeking a bold, visionary leader to join its Executive Team as Audit, Consultancy and Culture Change Director. This is a rare opportunity to lead one of our most significant and technically complex portfolios, shaping the future of health, safety and wellbeing consultancy services across the UK and internationally.

You will have full strategic and operational ownership of the Audit, Consultancy and Culture Change business, ensuring it is financially viable, commercially sustainable, and positioned for growth. Leading a team of technical experts, you will oversee service quality, innovation, and delivery excellence.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the Audit, Consultancy and Culture Change function, delivering high-quality services across the UK and internationally.
  • Ensure strong financial performance and commercial sustainability, with full oversight of budgets, forecasting, pricing, and profitability.
  • Drive growth by identifying and developing opportunities in existing and emerging markets.
  • Oversee product and service development to meet evolving client needs.
  • Embed robust quality assurance, technical development, and continuous improvement.
  • Champion the adoption of digital tools, data, and analytics.
  • Represent the British Safety Council externally with credibility and impact.

About you:

  • Proven track record of strategic leadership in technical service delivery, ideally in health, safety, or wellbeing.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with experience managing all aspects of financial performance (including P&L).
  • Skilled at leading and inspiring diverse teams of subject matter experts.
  • Strategic thinker with operational delivery expertise.
  • Excellent communicator and relationship-builder, able to influence at senior levels.
  • Passionate about purpose-led work, inclusion, and creating impact.
