Established under the Gambling Act 2005, the Gambling Commission is recognised globally for its innovative and expert regulatory leadership. Our mission is clear: to keep crime out of gambling, to protect vulnerable people, and to ensure that gambling is conducted fairly and openly. Close collaboration with the Chief Executive and wider Executive Team forms a core part of the role, contributing to the setting of strategic direction and the handling of complex, often sensitive matters with confidence and clarity. Responsibilities also include representing the Commission at high-profile events, deputising for the Chief Executive when required, and engaging with international regulators to help shape global standards. Leadership in this context has a tangible impact, delivering outcomes that protect millions of people across Great Britain.

Candidates will bring a strong track record of senior leadership within a regulated or regulatory setting, with proven ability to lead large, multi-function operational teams and drive performance and transformation in complex stakeholder environments. A thorough understanding of statutory frameworks, coupled with the proven ability to lead large, multi-functional operational teams.

This is a role for a collaborative and inspiring senior leader who will draw on sound judgement, personal resilience, and the ability to deliver under pressure. Political awareness and a clear commitment to public service and meaningful impact will be key.
