We are delighted that our Diversity Initiative, The Insight Programme, our innovative programme to build talent pipelines for Non-Executive roles within the NHS, received a high commendation from the judging panel at the HSJ Partnership Awards 20202, celebrating the most effective partnerships with the NHS.
The Insight Programme builds more diverse talent pools for non-executive Boards. Delivered in partnership with organisations across the NHS since 2017, the pro bono programme offers individuals from under-represented groups the opportunity to shadow Board meetings and sub-committees and receive mentoring and guidance from Board Chairs and other non-executive directors. Our most recent intake in the North West will also include partnerships with organisations in the Housing sector for the first time.
GatenbySanderson has been helping the Health Sector source great candidates for their Non-Executive roles for many years, with a particular focus on diversity. In 2019, 19% of our Non-Executive appointments in the Health Sector were from a black, Asian or minority ethnic background and 54% were women.
