Being a leader in Housing has never been more challenging. April 2024 signifies the deadline to be compliant with the Building Safety Act 2022 and social housing regulatory inspections will begin.
Given our understanding of the future regulatory requirements, our extensive work across the housing sector, and the huge number of conversations we have with both our local authority and housing provider clients and candidates, we understand how critical the next 12-18 months are for the housing sector.
Whilst these changes are a positive move, giving customers a voice which will protect and serve residents and their communities, these changes come at a financially, socially and politically challenging time and put pressure on our already over-stretched teams.
Being the 2023 market leader for housing-specific senior leadership roles across both our local government and housing practice, we are seeing a sharp increase in attracting customer-focused, resilient leaders, with an innate ability to horizon scan to ensure that their teams are equipped to deal with an ever-changing landscape and truly understand best value and their personal impact upon residents. Critical influencing skills are increasingly sought-after and tested, as leaders need to navigate conversations locally with senior colleagues and Elected Members but also regionally and nationally with Government and statutory regulatory bodies.
GatenbySanderson is incredibly passionate about having a direct impact on the communities and residents of the clients that we partner with, and understand that the talent we place today will intrinsically shape a better society tomorrow. Whether this is by finding an interim manager to support a service during a period of change, designing/ delivering a leadership development programme for your leadership team or when we are searching for your next leader, we will be by your side.
We truly mean it when we say we’re here to serve our local communities, and we feel we do this best by sharing what we’re hearing and seeing ourselves. If you would like an informal conversation – even just to test some ideas with us, or are just curious as to how the registered provider sector or other local authorities are tackling current challenges including Building Safety Act compliance – we’re here to support and would really welcome the time to chat to you.
