Interim Head of Performance and Planning – NHS Provider, North of England – Start ASAP – 3-6 Month Duration - Hybrid Working – 8C FTC or Day Rate – Inside IR35

We are seeking an Interim Head of Performance and Planning for our client, an NHS Provider based in the North of England. The role is looking to start as soon as possible, no later than the end of October, and will be for a duration of an initial 3-6 months whilst the Trust recruits the position substantively. This position could transition to a permanent engagement should that be of interest to all parties.

The role will ideally be performed on a full-time basis, although a 4-day working week can be considered, and the Trust has a hybrid model of working in place. In terms of remuneration, this role falls inside IR35 and is at an 8C level, on a day rate or Fixed Term Contract.

The Job Role – This position is responsible for leading the informatics team and conducting analysis on all patient pathways around emergency care. This includes but is not limited to analysing key performance indicators in the emergency department, patient flow and patient discharge metrics.

Furthermore, the successful candidate would be tasked with monitoring elective recovery activity against national and local targets, focusing on inpatients, outpatients and diagnostic services. Finally, this role is tasked with liaising with a local Trust to develop our client’s informatics offering and modernise the system.

The Person – Our client is looking for someone who has demonstrable experience in leading performance teams within an NHS environment. Solid experience within data/informatics analysis would be beneficial. Knowledge and experience in developing modern Microsoft BI-based informatics would also be advantageous.
