Interim Chief Medical Officer – National Health Organisation - start ASAP – 6 months duration – Part Time 3 days a week – £120k-£150k pa FTE plus benefits - Inside IR35



We are seeking an Interim Chief Medical Officer for our client, a National Health Organisation. The role is to start as soon as possible and the duration of the contract is expected to run for 6 months with the opportunity for it to go permanent if that is of interest to all parties. This role has a competitive salary and it will sit inside IR35. Our client is looking for someone to undertake the role on a part time basis and you would be required to be on-site 1 day a week, with flexibility available here as well.

The Job Role – This person will be accountable for revalidation, delivery of the role of Caldicott Guardian and be the Board’s senior professional medical advisor. With dual reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and the Director of Engagement, you will work closely with the Deputy CMO and the team of clinical advisors to support the delivery of our client’s programmes of work and provide advice and leadership on challenging medical and care issues.

The Person – A medical degree and a higher professional qualification is essential and you would be expected to and be fully registered with the General Medical Council and hold a licence to practise. Extensive knowledge and experience of the UK health, social care and public health landscape would be advantageous. You would also be expected to be able to navigate the complex structures, political and economic environments, and industrial contexts in which our client’s organisation exists within the health and care systems, and thereby ensure appropriate representation of our client and its strategic direction. Ideally, you would have gained robust clinical leadership experience gained at or close to board/senior management team level, representing organisations to a range of external bodies, and building and sustaining influential relationships at a senior level.
