The Vaccine Cell is the emergency programme set up in response to the need to roll out the Government’s Covid-19 vaccine programme to the British population, run by NHS England & Improvement and the Department of Health and Social Care, with support from the MOD. It constitutes staff redeployed from all of those organisations, plus additional staff drafted onto the programme on fixed term contracts and via external management consultancies. They are currently recruiting Interim Communications & Policy Manager (equivalent Band 8b/c day rate) to work with them for around 3 months due to increased workload. It is likely that this role will extend due to workload in response from Covid. The client are ideally looking for a candidate with Communications and Policy experience from within the NHS who have the capability to write well, prepare communications briefings and write externally-facing publications. You will also hold the relationships internally with various communications stakeholders and help the team to get sign off for policies.
You must be able to start work ASAP (or early in the new year) and preferably candidates need to be available to work full time, or 4 days per week as a minimum. This role can be conducted completely remotely in the most part with the occasional visit to site as Covid eases.
