Our client, a public sector regulatory body based in the South, have set up a Race Task Force to help make progress on Black Lives Matter. They are looking for an interim to help ensure that they do not lose momentum on this important agenda whilst they recruit to a newly created more senior post leading on Equality, Diversity & Inclusion.

They are looking for approximately 25 days between now and the end of March 2021 so that a new employed EDI role holder can slip seamlessly into the role and start to pick up the reins. The work pattern and structure of these 25 days will be discussed with the candidate.

They have set ourselves four EDI objectives for the period 2020-22:

  1. Prepare and publish our Equality Objectives every four years and report on our annual progress;
  2. Sign up to and maintain quality assurance charter marks;
  3. Openly acknowledge specific known equality needs and better deliver against equality legislation throughout the UK;
  4.  Prepare to publish equality data on their workforce diversity.

Their equality objectives are the public face of their commitment to equality. Their key mechanisms include:

  • Inclusive Environment policy
  • People Strategy deliverable
  • Modern Slavery statement
  • Mental Health impact statement
