Director of Safeguarding – Band 8D – Northwest – 4-6 months – Competitive Day Rate

Our client, a Local Health and Social Care Commissioning organisation are currently looking for an Interim Safeguarding Director with immediate effect, to take on a 4-6 month contract whilst they recruit to the substantive post.

The Job Role - The role will involve providing leadership and direction to the health economy across the region, being the identified CCG lead for the safeguarding partnership and overall ensure the improvement in care for vulnerable patients across the geography.  In addition, the role will involve effective partnership working with GP Practices, Social Services, Local Authorities, NHS Providers and patients, their carers and the public.  Furthermore, the post will involve the development of safeguarding governance agreements as well as ensuring robust safeguarding systems and frameworks are in place.  The position will also involve strategic work such as developing and implementing annual objectives and setting strategic direction.

The Person - Suitable applicants for this role will be required to hold a Registered Nursing Qualification and have recent, relevant experience of working within a commissioning organisation at a senior level in relation to safeguarding.   Previous experience of working system wide would also be advantageous as well as experience of effectively managing and leading a team of clinical staff.
