We are working with a London Council who are a diverse and an aspirational borough with huge potential. Having recently been through a massive shift in direction following both the newly elected Mayor and appointment of the Chief Executive, they are now starting a journey of transformation and improvement that will put people at the heart of everything we do and create opportunities for everyone. They are seeking an Interim Director of Highways, Parking & Transportation will report in to the Corporate Director of Environment & Sustainable Transport. This post will lead the follow-on structural reviews of Highways & Transportation and Parking; as well as reviewing highways investment programmes so as to better link investment to climate emergency and local peoples’ priorities; and modernising contracting and commissioning arrangements. In addition the post holder will be accountable for delivering significant MTFS savings / income growth, recommending the future model for parking enforcement delivery and procuring the future highways maintenance contracts.
The successful candidate will also work collaboratively with the community of borough, The Mayor, Members, the Chief Executive, Corporate Directors, and internal and external stakeholders. The roles will operate inside IR35, ideally on a fixed term contract. The assignments are required for up to 12 months from 2nd March 2020 or sooner.
