The Council owns almost 400 property assets which generates £5.8m of income each year as a landlord.  The portfolio includes investment property for profit, community assets and an operational estate which supports delivery of education, social care and leisure and cultural services.  The Council knows that there are opportunities to improve the way in which it manages and maintains its property portfolio and ensure stronger financial returns through active asset management, strong relationships with leaseholders, and making the most of regeneration opportunities.  A new strategic property and investment approach is currently under design and this will provide an exciting platform for transformation of the current property services for the Council.  We need a commercially focused property professional who can provide support to the property service and provide comprehensive and innovative asset management service.  Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Ensure the property portfolio is well maintained and complies with all statutory and local standards.
  • Make best use of property assets to support the delivery of wider strategic priorities.
  • Leads the provision of comprehensive, professional and innovative asset management services to the Council.
  • Proactively finds appropriate solutions to complex property problems and issues.
  • Maintains strong and business-like relationships with commercial leaseholders and tenants.

This role will be outside IR35 c£600 for approximately 5 months.
