A London Borough need an Interim Deputy Head of Procurement who is a hands on procurement generalist (ideally MCIPS) and can head up the day to day procurement function at the Council. You will also be responsible to develop and train the new team and deal with challenging senior stakeholders who want to see an improvement of the service and more collaboration in general within the departments. In addition to the softer skills and management you will need to be able to manage larger procurement exercises and ensure that the team deliver against the savings and performance targets that are in place. This role would suit a hands on manager who can multi task and can equally pick up a procurement exercise and run with it in line with public sector legislation and procurement regulations. Duties will include:
- Developing and leading the new team
- Senior stakeholder engagement
- Be responsible for the 'day to day' running of Procurement
- Give advice on Public Sector legislation and Procurement regulations
This role will be initially for 6 months inside IR35 C£600 per day.
