As Head of Planning and Economic Development for a Greater London Borough you will be accountable for the economic, efficient and effective delivery of all services. You will also be accountable for continuous improvement of service quality in these services, and for exploring and securing innovative ways of working, including opportunities for shared services, partnership working and income generation. In this role you will lead the development and provision of planning policy, economic development strategy and infrastructure planning that is forward looking, evidenced based and provides for the needs of the borough now and in the future, work proactively across the borough to promote cross county strategic growth and infrastructure change. Other duties will include but not be limited to:
- Develop and implement staffing plans to support continuous service improvement and performance management that develops and fosters a customer focused/learning culture in the Planning and Economic Development service group.
- Encourage personal development and provide appropriate support, mentoring and advice to staff in the Planning and Economic Development service group.
- Ensure Risk Management is in place, including effective evaluation, monitoring, review, mitigation and reporting on risks relevant within Planning and Economic Development.
- Ensure that communications within and about Planning and Economic Development are effective, appropriate and improve and enhance the reputation of the service and the Council.
Day rate will be dependent on experience inside IR35 and the role is expected to be for 6 months and we are looking for candidates who have RTPI chartership.
