Commercial Manager - Development
A London Borough is running more than 50 live projects, ranging from some of the largest and most comprehensive regeneration schemes seen in Central London. The development programme is in place to deliver 1,850 new affordable homes over the next 4 years and they are on track to meet this challenging target by 2023. Beyond this, a pipeline of additional sites has been identified for a further potential 2,000 new homes. Doing this, whilst also creating a positive impact which makes a real difference to the families, communities and built environment, is hugely rewarding and a highlight for any development professional’s career. In this role you will be expected to:
- Lead on financial modelling and development financing across multiple projects, ensuring an interface with business plans, corporate strategies and governance.
- Present information in an interactive and intuitive way.
- Act as the link between development and finance managers, leading the appraisal, approval and market readiness of development schemes, while protecting the Council’s interests.
- Play a key role in structuring entry and exit deals, managing major commercial and contractual issues, while maximising the value of our investments.
To succeed, you’ll need to be able to initiate and lead major programmes and manage project teams to deliver them within a large, complex, organisation, with comparable scope, budgets and resources. As part of the role you will be adept at analysing and interpreting a high volume of complex management, performance and financial information to make recommendations to senior leaders. The Commercial Manager should have strong interpersonal skills and demonstrable experience of establishing and building partnerships and productive working relationships within a complex policy and service environment with senior managers and councillors, and a wide range of stakeholders, including developers, contractors, partner organisations, communities and the public.
This role will be initially for 6 months, inside IR35 c£700
