Assistant Director of Community Safety

We are looking for an interim Assistant Director to lead the work in our community safety and wider community prevention services, this role is of high importance within a London Council and one that is vitally important to our community in providing a safe environment. In this position you will lead and be accountable for the delivery of a portfolio of activities and provision within Community Safety, including emergency and business continuity planning for the council, anti-social behaviour, Prevent, CCTV, police contract and neighbourhood operations. As a member of the Divisional Management Team (DMT), the post holder will work collaboratively with other management team colleagues and external stakeholders to achieve the Directorate service plans and priorities. The role is bring together services to provide one effective and innovative prevention and enforcement service to address crime, ASB and neighbourhood issues and to prevent them from recurring. The interim post holder will need to rapidly develop the  service with a high profile and  deliver lasting and positive change.The successful candidate will need to have extensive experience in a community facing role within the public or similar sector, and be capable of managing complex partnerships and managing wide ranging expectations.

This role is for 6 months inside IR35 and salary is dependent upon experience.  The closing date is Tuesday,  17th September 2019.
