Head Of Property
A London Borough are seeking an Interim Head of Property. The role will have direct responsibility for the Property team and sits within our Growth Directorate. The Council owns almost 400 property assets which it generates £5.8m of income from each year as a landlord. The portfolio includes investment property for profit, community assets and an operational estate which supports delivery of education, social care and leisure and cultural services. The Council knows that there are opportunities to improve the way in which it manages and maintains its property portfolio and ensure stronger financial returns through active asset management, strong relationships with leaseholders, and making the most of regeneration opportunities. A new strategic property and investment approach is currently under design and this will provide an exciting platform for transformation of the current property services for the Council. We need a commercially focused property professional who can lead the property service to provide a comprehensive and innovative asset management service. You will leads the Property Services team to:
- Ensure the property portfolio is well maintained and complies with all statutory and local standards.
- Make best use of property assets to support delivery of wider strategic priorities.
- Maintains strong and business-like relationships with commercial leaseholders and tenants.
- Works with a range of internal and external partners to ensure that Kingston’s property assets are utilised effectively.
- Is the client and develops partnerships and delivery models that deliver the wider strategic aims of the council, including new homes delivery and regeneration projects.
We are looking for a candidate with significant experience of working in a range of property disciplines including commercial assets at a senior level which should also include holding a relevant property qualification. The ideal candidate will be experienced in leading a team in a similar role, working in a pressurised environment, with limited supervision, meeting tight timescales and prioritising workloads. This role is inside IR35 until December 2019 c£600
