Interim Assistant Director Property & Building Services
We are looking for an Interim Assistant Director Property & Building Services who will be focused initially on the transformation of property services. Experience in this aspect of managing and maintaining a portfolio of buildings – whether for commercial, operational and community use – is essential and this would necessarily include experience of delivering major capital projects. You will have the skills and experience necessary to drive through structural and procedural changes to a service, to deliver improved outcomes and continuous improvement. In this role you will design and establish a new Property and Buildings Service, which integrates building control, corporate property, asset management, and related building and surveying functions and develop effective corporate property management services, and lead technical teams to ensure the delivery of high quality, cost-effective, customer focused services which meet the Council’s statutory responsibilities and Corporate Plan objectives.Duties will include but not be limited to:
- To lead the delivery of major capital projects across the Council’s corporate property portfolio, including joint venture proposals, development agreements, schools expansion programme, and other construction related projects.
- Lead the development of the building control services, including building control; dangerous structures; demolition; temporary structures; building regulations enforcement; customer service, professional advice and business development associated with building control.
- To work with key stakeholders, local residents and the voluntary sector in improving service delivery and promoting creative and innovative ways of tackling local problems ensuring services are developed which meet the needs of our ethnically diverse community and are accessible to all users.
This role is inside IR35 c£550 for 6 months. The closing date is 12pm on Thursday 27th June 2019.
