Head of Procurement

A London Council are are seeking an Interim Head of Procurement to provide strategic leadership governance and direction to the Council in respect procurement and supplier management.  In this role you will provide advice and recommendation to the Council, sub-committees and Cabinet, Management Board and Departmental Management Teams and develop appropriate shared and collaborative arrangements with other Councils including the management of shared services.  Other duties will include but not be limited to:

  • To work with Members and Chief Officers of the Council to establish and implement procurement  strategy and policies that reflect the Council’s key priorities and achieves efficiencies and value for money.
  • To lead, transform, direct and manage the Shared Procurement Service resources to provide high quality, proactive and effective procurement services to support the Council.
  • To raise awareness of procurement matters and to champion best commercial practice acting as the Council’s professional adviser on all supply chain issues.
  • To co-ordinate procurement activities across the Council, establishing and monitoring training courses, processes and procedures that provide risk management, compliance, probity and public accountability.

This role is inside IR35 c£600 for 6 months and the closing date is Thursday 27th June 2019.
