Director of Estates & Facilities

My client is looking to recruit an experienced Director of Estates and Facilities for a period of 6 months with the possibility for an extension. The role will be responsible for the Estates and Facilities strategy, as well as providing leadership and operational management across the Divisions’ portfolio. The role will also have full accountability for the strategic estate development and associated capital investment programme.The Director of Estates and Facilities will also be responsible for delivering safe, responsive and cost effective Estates and Facilities services with a focus on quality and promoting a customer service ethos. The post holder will be required to provide specialist and professional advice to the Board and the Executive Team including assurance in relation to statutory compliance and risk, associated with the organisations premises, infrastructure and Facilities support services.  You will need to be an experienced estates and facilities professional and have experience of working with senior executives and board members and be able to manage projects and ensure value for money is gained.  Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Accountable for the provision of professional advice to the Chief Executive and Board in relation to the Estate, infrastructure and Facilities support services together with the operational management of services across the Estates and Facilities portfolio ensuring that they are managed effectively, safely and within agreed budgets.
  • Assume full accountability and day to day management responsibility for the effective service delivery and high standard of performance across the Estates and Facilities portfolio.
  • To monitor the performance of Estates and Facilities services through national benchmarking tools, reporting performance to the Board and developing improvement plans where performance falls below the expected level.
  • To provide strategic advice and direction to the Chief Executive and Trust Board on all matters related to the Trusts Estates and Facilities support services, including Procurement and Decontamination.

This role would suit a candidate looking for a long term role as there is a possibility for an extension of over 12 months and salary will be be dependent on experience.
