Interim Project Manager
As part of a wider transformation plan across a London Council, they have identified the value that a progressive procurement function can deliver. They have developed a clear vision for the department that sets it on a more strategic footing, with a ‘cradle to grave’ approach from early engagement to commercial management of our strategic contract. One of the key priorities from the service plan is the implementation of a long term forward plan of future procurement activity which will be achieved through increased early engagement with stakeholders at a variety of forums. Eventually the intent will be that this leads to the development of category strategies to support commissioning strategies/business plans. The Council temporarily need to add capacity within the procurement department to allow members of the team to undertake the necessary engagement required to build the plan.The role will sit within the Transformation programme team but the majority of the time will be spent working with the Procurement function or clients within the organisation.Specifically it will be required to:
- Either: support the delivery of a number of contract opportunities that will generate savings where we have already identified individuals within the procurement team who can take a lead; or deliver some opportunities directly.
- Lead on the delivery of a number of activities from the service plan. These will include: working with the teams to develop a longer term forward plan; the development of appropriate tools to monitor progress of projects against key measures; and working with the teams to continue to improve data quality to support procurement decision making.
The role is for 6 months inside IR35 c£600.
