An organisation in London is seeking a Head of Waste on a competitive day rate for a period of 6 months. 

Objectives
To ensure the effective leadership, management, control, and operation across Waste services; including the effective monitoring of the Waste collection and Street Cleansing contract, supporting renegotiation to obtain improvements and efficiencies and in addition advising Members on the Waste Disposal contract. 

Abilities, Knowledge and Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of the Waste Authority and Waste hierarchy and implementing strategies to reduce Waste
  • Successful working in a politically sensitive environment and ability to maintain effective communication, and establish credibility, with other departments. 
  • Ability to maintain effective communication, and establish credibility with other boroughs, government bodies and with a wide range of stakeholders outside the organisation.
