We are seeking an Assistant Director with experience in senior management to lead the range of services and take management responsibility for strategic and operational development. In this position you will take responsibility for the management of a day to day responsive repairs service; a planned maintenance programme including a home improvement service providing cross tenure adaptations, hostels and the maintenance of other Housing assets.  In this position you will also be the lead manager ensuring the effective running and assurance of a range of large contracts.  Part of the role will be to develop and manage effective monitoring of evaluation frameworks, including systems of target setting, performance monitoring, reporting and business planning in order to ensure best practise in the provision of services. You will be responsible for managing significant budgets ensuring timely and accurate budget management and driving value for money and savings.  Other responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Be accountable for the high risk and complex repairs and maintenance service providing a professional, high quality cost-effective, customer focused service that complies with statutory duties.
  • Be the lead chief officer for health and safety with regard to property management and act as the strategic lead in the development, management and delivery of health and safety issues relating to council properties.
  • Be accountable for the delivery and management of a number of large complex contracts, acting as strategic and policy lead on the production, development and effective delivery of relevant housing contracted services ensuring contracts are robustly and effectively monitored to drive performance, resident satisfaction and value for money.
  • Responsibility, under delegated authority, for the preparation and management of a variety of large multi-million pound complex service budgets, ensuring compliance with all relevant internal and external regulations, the achievement of value for money and the management of any
    financial risks.

The role is inside IR35 and a minimum of 6 months with day rate dependent on experience.
