We are currently looking to appoint three new Board Members to our ambitious and high-performing Board. One of these Board Members will be our future Deputy Chair and Senior Independent Director, a post which is remunerated at £8,500 per annum. These are key strategic roles within Muir Group as we continue to make a positive difference to people's lives, ensuring that residents and their communities are at the heart of everything we do.

As a social housing provider with over 5,500 homes, we employ circa 130 people and we are proud to have been awarded the coveted Investors in People Gold accreditation. Our strong financial and governance credentials are illustrated by our G1 / V1 ratings from the Regulator of Social Housing. Predominantly based in the North West, our Chester HQ is supported by offices in Burnley and Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire.

The skills we are seeking are:

  • People with lived experience of social housing, or a housing sector professional with an impressive track record of delivering positive outcomes through pro-active customer engagement and acting upon the customer voice.
  • Strategic asset management and investment experience. Possibly with social housing experience, or from a sector with a comparably large and customer focused property portfolio, you will bring valuable insight into areas such as de-carbonisation, all safety aspects and utilising asset data.
  • Governance experience from a regulated environment. With a thorough understanding of good governance and how effective boards and committees work, you will bring expertise in compliance, legal and regulatory aspects from a complex sector such as ours.

If you can bring to us one or more of the professional skills above, along with a commitment to helping us achieve our purpose of ‘Working with People to maximise their quality of life’, then these could be excellent career-enhancing opportunities for you. You’ll have a collaborative yet constructively challenging style, and thrive when working in a collegiate, values-driven culture. Some knowledge of non-executive roles is desirable although not essential.
