Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust
Here at Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust we provide a range of acute and community services to our local community and beyond. We also provide specialist services to a wider population. We employ around 4,200 staff and provide 440 hospital beds across the Gateshead area. Our annual turnover is over £365 million and we are proud to be rated as ‘good’ with ‘outstanding’ care by the Care Quality Commission. Our wholly-owned subsidiary, QE Facilities, provides a range of high-quality non-clinical services to the Trust and other NHS bodies. We are a high performing, diverse organisation with a relatively new Board of Directors, and we are an organisation that makes a substantial impact through our influence across the region.
We are seeking to appoint a Group Director of Finance and Digital to join our Board of Directors to help us to achieve our vision of delivering outstanding and compassionate care to our patients and communities.
You will already be operating at or close to Board level, with significant experience of financial management in an NHS environment and an in-depth understanding of NHS finance regimes. You will have significant experience of providing leadership and managing senior finance professionals. You will be able to provide high-level financial and business advice in a complex multi-disciplinary environment.
The successful candidate will be highly visible, inspiring and able to motivate teams to find sustainable, value for money solutions to benefit our patients and staff. You will be resilient, solution focused and bring rigour to internal challenges to meet the needs of the communities we serve. The successful candidate will provide financial oversight of our wholly-owned subsidiary, as well as the Trust.
As an Executive Director you will be a key corporate champion, articulating the strategic vision for the organisation and influencing the effective delivery of corporate business plans. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the Trust’s finance and digital corporate functions, as well as providing financial oversight of our wholly-owned subsidiary. You will therefore need to forge key working relationships with all levels of staff across the Trust.
This is a demanding and exciting role that provides an opportunity to be at the forefront of change at a progressive NHS provider. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong motivation towards understanding the changing NHS operating environment, including the financial challenges this brings, and you will have the highest standards of personal integrity. You will also be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of, and alignment to, our values and compliance with fit and proper person requirements.
