We are looking for someone who can listen to the voices of our residents and communities; someone who will embrace diversity to create and maintain a borough that is as inclusive as it is safe.

The Director of Adults’ Social Care will hold the statutory responsibilities under the Care Act for the borough and provide transformational leadership to the service. The post holder will have direct responsibility for all strategic, commissioning and operational aspects of adult social care including our care providers MioCare. Our ambition is to deliver a resident focused, place based, prevention and early intervention model of adult social care. This will be embedded in a strength and assets based approach.

You will be someone with a proven track record in the adult social care, health or a related sector. Whilst having recent experience as a Statutory Director for Adult Social Services is preferable, we are open to attracting the rising stars who are ready to step up and can become future leaders. You will be able to demonstrate a strong ethos for working in collaboration and through integrated services both across the local authority and with key partnerships, notably health and the voluntary sector. The successful candidate will be able to build a strong network of trust and confidence in every relationship. You’ll have a natural ability to use resources effectively and be able to promote a culture of personal responsibility and accountability.
